Ingersoll Watch Co.

ingersoll-logo-in-cream.jpgIt was 1893 the first mass production of wrist and pocket watches were established by the Ingersoll brothers Robert and Charles in the USA. Prior to this watches required much more handcrafting and the therefore were relatively expensive. High quality watches were produced at the reasonable price of $1.00 (a day’s wages at the time).

The “Dollar Watch” or the “Yankee” (as it was respectfully called), changed the public’s aspiration about the possibility of watch ownership for ever.

In 1933 Ingersoll, working with the Walt Disney Company developed a watch with Mickey Mouse on the dial and the first character watch was born. This amazingly successful concept changed product marketing forever.
